The Amman Stock Exchange General Index Closed today (19-07-2010) at 4,941.390 points with a decrease of -1.23% from the last session. Trading volume for today reached 17.22 million JOD through 20.64 million shares were traded through 5,404 transactions.
The other ASE sector indices closed as the following, the Finance index closed at 8,646.340 with a decline of -0.75%, the index closed at 2,606.260 with a hike of 0.15%, the Services index closed at 1,559.130 with a decline of -0.18%, the Industries index closed at 3,811.870 with a decline of -2.96%.
Taameer Jordan Holdings Public Shareholding (TAMR: 0.68 JOD, -1.45%) led the market in terms of shares turnover with 3,477,462 shares traded. Amman Stock Exchange performance for June 2015
The Amman Stock Exchange closed the month of June with a decrease in the index by 3.11% to close at 2115.64 points in comparison with the close of May 2015, this decline in the index was the result of of decrease in the prices of Jordan Phosphate Company shares, Arab Bank shares, Jordan Petroleum Refinery shares, and Jordan Electric Compnay shares. The Amman Stock Exchange index closed for the month of May with an increase of 3.22% to close at 2,183.57 points in comparison with the closing of April 2015 , supported by the rising shares of Arab Potash Company and the shares of the Arab Bank and the shares of Jordan Petroleum Refinery, where its impacted positively on the market cap of the Amman Stock Exchange, which rose by 6.54% to reach 18.096 billion dinars. During this month the World Economic Forum took place in the Dead Sea , Jordan , where the Jordanian government signed agreements for the projects at $ 7 billion in various sectors, notably the energy, transport, which are expected to provide 180 000 jobs in the event of the implementation of those projects.
